Professor (Adj) LAI Kok Fung is an entrepreneur, educator, and lifelong learner with over 30 years of experience in digital marketing and technology.

He co-founded BuzzCity in 1999 and served as its CEO, growing it into the world’s second-largest mobile advertising network before its acquisition in 2016. Today, he leads Jayon Inc, providing digital marketing consultancy and training for small and medium enterprises.

Prof Lai holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a First Class Honours degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore. He currently teaches digital marketing and mentors startup founders as an adjunct professor at the NUS School of Computing.

Outside work, he writes, composes songs, stages theatrical plays, and runs www.fukan.my, a community platform for Chinese content creators in Southeast Asia. He also volunteers as a pianist at Dover Park Hospice, bringing comfort through music.
